World Youth Day Blog 28 JAN 2021

In the midst of Covid 19 and the last 3 months of my 34 years of life, I would like to share more one of the most extraordinary spiritual journey in my life – World Youth Day Poland. And please note that “youth”, we mean age 18 – 35.

Really touched that I could come back to Poland – World Youth Day, when I was 30. I was praying and looking forward to joining for a long time, because it was expensive for me when I was a teenager and university time. But God’s plans last 2 years brought me back to Europe, wedding of my polish best friends, and her father brought me to beautiful churches – I thought it is one of a life time experience and dreams come true! Could not believe God this time had me to come with youth from Hong Kong!

And so I still believe it is a miracle I can attend open mass with my polish families! Poland Catholics really follow the traditions of first confessions, then I told Edyta, she said I need to do confession first, then once I did that, I rushed out and had my first polish communion in the evening of the open air mass, with my best polish friends. We also went for a polish concert of CHOPIN.

Father of Barbara allowed us to stay with them, and I played several songs for them at the living room piano, ended up they played Chopin music to me all night. And brought me to Popes home town village, when I arrived, there is a polish mass and we ate Pope’s favorite cake!

Another dream of mine is the attend a latin mass and sing it! I am thankful during the WYD mass I can attend one and sang along! Priest Kam has been teaching me Latin in Saint Stephens Church and I had a few classes. I could make a few sounds and so happy to sing Latin songs!

Then at the Taize Church where I could hold the sign – silence please and with 2 philips. I decided to sit with the choir group and sang beautifully in the church together in Latin!
